Why Can't Our Kids Have Texbooks?

Click on Poll Below for Informative Slide Presentation

Seems some legislators want electronic textooks.  Why?

Electronic textbooks bypass citizen envolvement and State Board of Education
Authority.  Electronic textbook legislation was written by computer companies
who would benefit enormously from computer sales if textbooks continue to be
held hostage by the legislature.  Entities wanting to bypass parental and
elected official imput would benefit enourmously as well.  It has been hard
enough to get a handle on what our kids are being taught but when we are
removed from the review process, we have given our kids up to cyberspace.

Action Alert:  Call your legislator and tell them you want:
1)     The SBOE to maintain authority over textbooks and the funds to buy them,
2)     Parental input in the selection process, and to
3)     Authorize purchase of textbooks NOW before the special session is over.

Read the following articles and then view this power point presentation
on public opinion on electronic textbooks.  It is informative and you don't want to
miss it!  Legislators should be doing the will of the people as is clear in this poll.
Why aren't they?  Ask your legislator!
